About Sarah

As you are looking for the right celebrant, here are the important things you need to know about me: I want to lead the way in creating a memorial or funeral that reflects the person who has passed away, all the things that he or she held most dear in the world, and your love for the deceased. I will provide unlimited consultation and assistance to you in fashioning a truly meaningful personalized memorial or funeral.

I have respect for all faiths. I have received diplomas from the Celebrant Foundation & Institute, USA, where I now serve as a faculty member. I live in New York City, but bring with me a hospitality that I attribute to my home, Oklahoma. In addition to this work that I adore, I devote myself to a variety of charities on issues relating to education, children, health, and the arts.

I have studied art, history, religion and music. I am an ardent traveler and life-long learner. In addition to my work as a Celebrant, Non-Denominational Minister, and officiant, I have more than 20 years experience in education, nonprofit management, and event-planning; I am ready to address any question or request, large or small. I treasure this work that I do and find great satisfaction in working with family and friends to create and deliver a very personalized tribute to a loved one who has passed.

Should you select me to be the celebrant at your memorial or funeral, I will make a donation to a charity of your choice, following the service. I can’t think of a better way to honor the experience of honoring your loved one. For me, this is a small way of “giving back” for the privilege of working with you and your loved ones, as well as the many gifts I have received over the years.

Recent organizations that received donations include the following:
• ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals)
• Hope & Heroes Children’s Cancer Fund
• Central Connecticut Food Bank
• MacDowell Colony (residential writing program)
• Society of the Little Flower Program for Foster Children
